Southern Oregon University...Day 1!!

Well, I made it! I am here, in Ashland. My new home. Dad did good and got us in town at noon, had lunch then met the roomie and moved in! This weekend is packed with fun things to do, I hope I can keep up!

After 2 years...

...They are finally off. No more braces! Yay! I can't stop smiling! This morning I was so giddy with excitement! :D I am so glad that I get to start a new chapter in my life with a metal free mouth. Lol....

Mayfield Family Cruise 2010

Way back when.... Kendahl and I were deciding what we wanted to do for our graduation trip. We brainstormed a whole bunch of ideas, but for some reason going on a cruise just stood out to us. So, our parents booked a 4 day cruise for 14 Mayfield's. On Monday, June 28th, we flew to Long Beach, CA. That was where we boarded the Carnival Paradise. We left port around 5:30pm and from then on out it was FUN FUN FUN!! Karaoke, dancing, eating, reading, relaxing, walking, swimming, tanning, more eating, laughing, burning, picture taking... The list goes on! I had such a fun time, I was so reluctant to come home! I would do this again in a heartbeat. Kendahl and I made friends with a couple of boys from Houston; Ellie and Jordan made friends with kids from Stockton; and Kendahl and I also made some friends with a huge group of Koreans :-) Man were they fun... I am so glad that this was the trip that we chose. I already love my awesome family, but this brought as all together and I love them all even more.

Well, I survived... I made it through 4 years of changing schedules, budget cuts and the introduction of small schools. I survived Newberg High School. Graduation week was busy! Saturday was my grad party, Sunday was a grad banquet with NCC, Monday was my final concert. Tuesday was a recognition at youth group, Wednesday was Senior Awards night, Thursday was Baccalaureate... And Friday was graduation followed by Grad Night! Phew! lol... busy busy BUSY!!! But hey, it all paid off. I earned an Honor's Diploma and I was very well decorated for the ceremony.. Honor Society cord and an Honor's Diploma cord, along with the medal and a beautiful lei that Gradnpa gave to me :-)
I can say that I did not cry at all, but I did get watery eyes... The ceremony was great and I loved hearing my name called. Walking across the stage was exhillarating!
And Grad Night was a BLAST! I even won a Macy's gift card!

Hard work pays off... Didn't I already know that?

Tonight was Senior Recognition/Awards Night for the Class of 2010. I was awarded a $1000 scholarship from the Newberg Noon Rotary. WOOOO!!! And I received cords for earning an Honor's Diploma and for being a member of National Honor Society. I am very proud that my hard work paid off and that I actually won something! :)

Special thanks to Mom who gave me an ultimatum for the scholarship that I won tonight! Love you!

Senior Skip Day 2010

In my 4 years of being in high school, I have never missed a day simply because I wanted to... Until May 28th, 2010. I spent the morning with Grandma, Grandpa and Alejandro. Then Aunt Cori picked me up and we drove out to Pacific City to meet up with Kendahl and Haley. We checked in to our quaint little cabin and then headed to the beach! First thing we did? Climbed the dune... I was the last to reach the top.. :(
That was a good evening! I am glad that I was able to take a "mental health day"
